Second #MicroBizMattersDay Celebrates Small Business

Friday 8 January is a day of collaboration among micro-enterprises

This Friday 8 January micro-enterprises around the world are being urged to support other businesses employing 0-9 people in some way – as long as it's for 8 minutes or more.

This year's MicroBizMattersDay – a global day of action among micro-enterprises – is an opportunity for business owners to help each other on any issue that falls into these 3 categories: customers, cash flow and chat.

Founded by micro-business specialists Tina Boden and Tony Robinson OBE in 2014, MicroBizMattersDay encourages "collaboration not competition" between smaller businesses. More than 1 million micro-enterprise founders are expected to support fellow entrepreneurs this year, and show their support by using the #IGave8 hashtag.

This Friday, micro-enterprise owners will also have the opportunity to listen to 8 hours of live online broadcasting and streaming from more than 60 business owners including Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones, Tim Campbell MBE – Lord Sugar's first ever 'apprentice', and the well-known millionaire Pimlico Plumbers founder, Charlie Mullins OBE.

It is a day of Recognition, Action and Learning with over one million micro business owners helping each other on the day.

MicroBizMattersDay also aims to demonstrate the massive contribution independent business owners and the self-employed make to the global economy, job creation and communities. The campaign calls this combined power of micro-enterprise owners the #PowerOfPlenty .

Powered by the Enterprise Rockers movement – a free-to-join organisation for founders of micro-enterprises also set up by Tina and Tony – this Friday's participants will also be using the hashtag #MicroBizMattersDay .
